I Hate Mondays
by Puternut inargh, come to work and check my email, 114 new ones, 18 with attachements(viruses), on my desk there are numerous new jobs, phone calls on the answering machine.
voice mails on my cell, mail slot got jammed because of all the bills.... i had a great weekend.
it's just so overwhelming on mondays, so i decided to take a quikie break and have a cup of coffee before i dig in to the piles of work.. is it friday yet?.

Suppose God is....

what if we go to heaven and we all our lives have treated the negro as an inferior and we look up and he is not white?
what then is our response?

Well no, not really.
If we are to imagine God as a black person, as well as Jesus and the apostles, even the prophets, then shouldn't we examine their credentials?
When we study history, do we view blacks as an influencial, intelligent race? One that has suceeded in giving the world anything worthwhile?
I have absolutely nothing against blacks, but we do well to consider these questions with an open mind, and not ready to point the finger of racism. Maybe the races are not similar and in some fields blacks are a lot more superior than whites? But thats for another discussion.

the memorial
by galaxy7 inwell the memorial was as interesting as everthere were about 50 people in attendance.. i was happy to see about 10 people come in jeans.i thought that was wonderful.
he gave a good talk ,this is one time he had to mention jesus but he did well not overstating the name.. he quoted the american standard version a few times except when he talked about john 3:16 then he used the new world translation.. i liked how they have a curtain up around a pretending window,that initself gave me food for thought.. the local priest has been attending the memorial over the years word has it when he retires he is going to become a jw.
a few people talked to me, all in all i guess it went well.

Did Jesus let us down?

Did he? Who knows what he did?
Imagine the scene: Jesus is dragged before Pilate and Pilate asks him 'What is truth?'. In a situation like that, what could Jesus have done? I can't see him walking around the room making gestures and discussing what truth is. 'Truth is....' so on and so forth.
I dont think we could say he let us down if the guy decided to lay down his own life so we could gain everlasting life. Who holds a greater love than that, that this one should lay down his life for his brothers? Jesus didn't let us down because he didn't give us an answer we want to hear. Jesus saved man by laying down his life that we should live.
Or so goes the story.

the silentlambs caucus that was recently in nashville was in our local paper last sunday.
i saw the article before my husband did so i knew what it said.

Your husband shown great ignorance and fell into the trap of name calling during your discussion. When a person's arguments begin to fail, you always know that you have won the argument when they resort to attacking you rather than attacking your argument.
Since he believes he is such a big follower of Jesus Christ himself, why not ask him why he believes that the Watchtower is God's organization if he even concedes that there are abusers and scumbags within the congreagations. The fallacy of Jesus 'weeding out the bad seeds' is nonsense even by the Watchtower's own words when all of a sudden they decided we are not living in the time of the harvest. Ask him, then, what did Jesus mean when he discussed that every good tree produces good fruit ;- but every bad tree produces bad fruit. How can a good tree produce bad fruit?

Revoke Your JW Baptism Vows on this thread!
by Sirona inmany of us here were baptised into the jw organisation.
shotguns shootout thread (part 5) touches on the fact that since 1985 the vows included a dedication to "jehovahs organisation".. have you publicly revoked this?.
why not use this opportunity to revoke your vows to the watchtower organisation?

Nothing to revoke, fortunately I never decided to take the dip, although I gave over 70 talks and was a Witness (raised) for 20 years.
